1 package (1/4 ounce) dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
2 1/3 cups whole-wheat flour, plus extra for rolling
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
4 ounces cream cheese
1 egg
1/4 cup powdered milk, plus extra for rolling
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Combine with all ingredients in a food processor and mix into dough (or mix by hand in a bowl).
2. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4" thickness. Sprinkle the dough with the extra dry milk to make it easier to roll out.
3. Cut into shapes with your favorite cookie cutters.
4. Place biscuits on a cookie sheet covered with greased or non-stick foil.
5. Bake 20-25 minutes or until a light, golden brown.
